——- $1,800,000——-
The construction of a new community center/cafeteria will address some of Loyola’s most urgent needs. Not only will it provide a fresh look to campus, this new construction will transform the former cafeteria into a new library and new classrooms. This new space will feature a full service kitchen that will support meal preparation for over 500 people; cooler, freezer and pantry storage; a serving line with open flow for faster through-put; large windows open to the planned Courtyard; and covered areas for outdoor dining. This new building, estimated at nearly 7,000 square feet, will be utilized in several ways:
• The cafeteria will serve the students and faculty breakfast and lunch during school hours.
• The new dining space will seat approximately 325 in banquet style, with room for a presentation platform.
• The flexible space can double for church and community functions.
• The space can host dances, parties and other social functions.
