Loyola College Prep is currently housed in three buildings-the original three story classroom structure, the old residence hall (used for classrooms), and the gymnasium. Through master planning and analysis, a need has been demonstrated for modern teaching facilities, additional classrooms and labs, and new athletic facilities.
Recently, school leaders developed a three-phase vision to address the future of Loyola College Prep. They recommended several new facilities and general upgrades of existing facilities, with a total estimated cost of $16,750,000.
To help guarantee our success in meeting the vision, we retained the J.F. Smith Group to conduct a feasibility study to determine if our constituency would support the cost of our vision. They found that the great majority of our constituency approved of, and would support, our vision.
Armed with information and further assistance from the Smith Group, we are now proceeding with the capital campaign, LOYOLA Forever, to fund Phase 1 of our vision, estimated at $4.1 million. This campaign will move us even closer to our vision’s goals.
Steve Skrivanos, Campaign Chairman jumpstarted the campaign with his motivating message in Loyola’s 2010 Fall Newletter.
“We set out several months ago to address this issue so vital to our mission. I am proud to report that through the hard work and input from many people, we have developed a dramatic new master plan to transform 921 Jordan Street into our school of the future, while retaining its character and historic significance so important to us all. This design is a three stage process by which we will both modernize our existing facilities and build new structures that will honor and complement the heritage of our present location. All is strategically planned to take place while allowing for classroom instruction to continue with a minimum of interruption. You will be hearing much about this in the weeks to come, but in my view, it is the most significant undertaking since the founding of the school.”
